dressmaker patch notes on Steam run newest first: Build 410 on 24 September 2026, Build 403 on 22 September, and the 1.0 Out Now post on 21 September. Those three community announcements are the live Windows and macOS branch. They are not itch.io Prototype 0.5.5, and they do not flip Linux, controller support, or mobile ports to true on the store.
Read them as shop-floor changes. Build 410 stops misclicks in the sketchbook, cutting room, and sewing scene. Build 403 puts the cutting cursor back, makes you ring the bell, retags lace, and pays accepted failed commissions. The launch post is the paid ship plus a roadmap that is still a promise. When a workshop page mentions the shop bell or a visible cursor, it is talking about these Steam posts, not the three-week prototype zip.
First-party patch text lives on Steam news for app 4019220. Cozy Lives posted Build 410 as Elyaradine and Build 403 as Hyphenza.
Build 410 is the current Steam build. Elyaradine's patch notes treat it as a UX pass, not a content drop. Sketchbook component names now show they are clickable, so you stop hunting for a hidden handle on a piece you already drew. That matters because the official loop still wants the book filled before you cut: if you cannot tell a name is a control, you stall on the page and waste a silk roll later.
The cutting-room mouse wheel no longer rotates panels while the cursor is over inventory. That is a misclick tax. Build 403 had already restored a visible cursor; Build 410 stops that cursor from spinning a pattern piece you meant to leave on grain. Hovering a panel in inventory now hints where it sits on the mannequin, which is the same measurement desk April Tea described: the form is the person, and the piece has a home on that form.
The infinite bobbin was already the store line; this patch makes the sewing-scene spool a colour control instead of a dead prop. The tutorial no longer softlocks if you open the sketchbook before ringing the bell. New players who tap the book first can continue. None of these lines add Linux, a controller scheme, or a new fabric family.

Patch Notes - Build 410
Sketchbook component names now look clickable. The mouse wheel no longer rotates cutting-room panels while the cursor sits over inventory. Sewing-scene spools change thread colour. Hovering a panel in inventory hints where it belongs on the mannequin. Opening the sketchbook before the bell no longer traps the tutorial.

Our First Patch Is Live! - Build 403

Dressmaker - Out Now!
Steam 1.0 ships as a paid Windows and macOS release. Immediate weeks promised small bugfix updates plus extra fabrics and accessories. Larger announced work: online challenge mode, transparent fabrics, proper controller support, mobile and Switch ports. None of those larger items are store flags in Build 410.

Build 403, two days after launch
Hyphenza posted Our First Patch Is Live for Build 403 on 22 September 2026. The cutting-room tutorial cursor had gone invisible; the patch puts it back. Grain versus bias is a visual job. If you cannot see the pointer on a busy print, you cut the wrong angle and only learn it on the mannequin. The store tutorial Back button also returns, so a missed prompt is not a trap.
The shop no longer auto-queues the next client. You ring a bell. That is the largest flow change in the three posts: delivery is not a conveyor. Failed work that a client still accepts now pays, so a bias silk experiment that missed taste can still fund the next cotton recut. Lace trim is retagged so the till and the workroom agree on the same extra. A single keyhole bodice is fixed, and shop buttons on ultra-wide aspect ratios become clickable again.
Build 403 does not replace Prototype 0.5.5 and does not ship on Linux. It is a Steam Windows and macOS patch on top of the 21 September 1.0. When a commission page tells you to ring the bell, this is the note it is citing.
1.0 on 21 September 2026
The Out Now post is the paid ship. Steam lists Windows and macOS, coming_soon false, app 4019220. Scalding September Tea had already set USD 14.99 with regional pricing and a 10 percent launch discount, and had said there are no microtransactions, ads, or generative AI on this product. Story commissions are about 35 hours excluding off-the-rack sales, with more than 150 dress pieces, more than 450 fabrics, and more than 350 accessories in the full catalogue.
The same launch week promised small bugfix updates, which arrived as Build 403 and Build 410. It also listed larger work: an online challenge mode, transparent fabrics, proper controller support, and mobile and Switch ports. Those sentences are a roadmap. Steam still advertises Mouse Only Option and Playable without Timed Input. Linux remains false on the store even though itch.io Prototype 0.5.5 includes Linux zips.
July Tea had locked 21 September 2026 after 200,000 wishlists and noted that the upside-down 福 on the front desk is intentional. After Party Tea later said the team recouped costs within 24 hours. Those letters explain mood and sales; they are not extra patch rows. The three dated Steam posts above are the patch timeline.
Steam patches are not the itch prototype
itch.io still hosts Prototype 0.5.5 as a Name your own price zip for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Mac prototype builds are not notarized. That page is a historical three-week snapshot. It does not receive the shop bell, the lace retag, the visible cutting cursor, or the Build 410 spool colour control. Installing the zip will not show Steam Achievements or Steam Cloud.
If a friend sends a Linux build, it is Prototype 0.5.5 even if they call it Dressmaker. Steam will not install that zip onto app 4019220. The prototype page keeps the two storefronts on a two-state timeline so the patches on this page stay attached to Steam.
Discord at discord.gg/tBa93Rzgj5 is listed on itch and on the press kit. It is a community door, not a patch tracker. When you want the current Steam change list, use Steam news for app 4019220, then come back here for the player-facing reading of those three posts.
How to read a note against the workshop loop
Map each line onto a desk. Sketchbook clickable names and the tutorial softlock live on the sketchbook. Cutting-room cursor, wheel, and inventory hover live on pattern cutting. Spool colour lives on the sewing machine next to the infinite bobbin. Lace retag lives on decorations. The bell and paid failed commissions live on customers. Ultra-wide shop buttons touch the shop window.
Roadmap lines do not belong on those desks yet. Transparent fabrics are not a sixth family beside cotton, linen, wool, silk, and velvet. Controller support is not a current sewing feature. Mobile and Switch ports are not store flags. Online challenge mode is not a live commission type. If a patch later ships one of those, it will be a new Steam post, not a silent rewrite of Build 410.
Keep the three dates in order when you argue about a bug. A missing cursor on day one is a Build 403 story. A wheel that still rotates a panel over inventory after 24 September is no longer a 403 story. A Linux request is an itch story. That split is the whole point of a reverse-chronology patch page.
